General
Is it possible to choose my own IP?
General Lockfox will be releasing features shortly that will allow you to choose where your IP shows up on the Internet geographically and we expect to have many points across the globe from which users may choose! These points will serve to improve the quality of your connection and speed of your service! Do you log or watch my activity on the web?
General Absolutely not! Your privacy is our number one concern. Our internal networking is double and in some cases triple blind and is encrypted from the moment it leaves your browser to the time it leaves our security network. We don't log or track any activity - not only because we respect your privacy but we physically are unable to due to the nature of the encrypted connection.
Even if we could, we wouldn't - it would be simply too time consuming and resource intensive to do so.My public IP doesn't change often. How can I change this?
General The short answer is, you can't. Generally you'll find that your public IP does fluctuate from time to time from a pool of dynamic addresses. One problem this presents in doing often though is that it tends to play havoc on website "sessions" when it's done within your single sign on period. Many sites across the Internet, from webmail to online banking, are IP-based in their security. If your IP changing mid-connection, it will invalidate your session and you'll be forced to sign on to that website again.
Typically many hundreds or thousands of our users share from our pool of public IP addresses, so there is no worry of a particular public IP being tied to your individual use. Most often the only real reason to rotate a public IP often is when users wish to use the service in places they "expect" to be banned - a use of Lockfox that we specifically prohibit in our terms of service.
While we promote privacy and freedom on the Internet, Lockfox is offered as a shield - not as a sword. We want to protect you from the bad guys - not provide the tools to be one.
Additionally, with your privacy as our chief concern, our tunneling and encryption technology render the need for IP rotation to be completely unnecessary. How does Lockfox secure my data on insecure wifi connections?

Lockfox tells me I cannot connect - what's going on?
General When you launch Lockfox, a series of connection tests are performed to determine if you have the appropriate access to the internet from your PC. Lockfox requries direct access to one of several common "ports" in order to properly establish your secure connection. If you are located on a particulary restrictive network, it may not be possible to run Lockfox from your present location. If Lockfox informs you of this, you will not be able to run Lockfox successfully.
